This course is designed for persons who wish to learn how to operate an excavator.

Students will also learn how to:

*Please note that applicants must be licensed drivers 18 years or older to be eligible to participate in this course.

*Safety boots and a reflector vest are required.

*Students are responsible for paying their own permit and licensing fees.

What is a stipend?

A stipend is a fixed regular sum of money paid to trainees to help cover expenses related to their attendance.
Can partial payments be made for the Evening programme?

No, the programme cost must be paid in full at the time of registration.
Do participants have to supply their own materials?

On some courses, class participants will be provided with tools and materials to complete the course. However there are several courses where participants may be asked to buy their own tools and bring ingredients/materials. In these cases a material list is issued at registration.

C. Lomer Alleyne Skills Training Centre
The CLA centre is where most of the Board’s Evening programmes are held. It is known for its Agricultural and Engineering programmes. CLA is the BVTB’s largest centre and it continues to be expanded.

I enjoyed being involved in the Apprenticeship Programme – both the theoretical and practical component. The experience was worthwhile, as I was able to acquire a skill and also further my studies.
