Housekeeping - Beginners

Participants in the Beginners Housekeeping programme will look at the primary facets of Housekeeping – both for private residences as well as hotels.

Topics include: making beds, general maintenance, customer service and the handling of chemicals.

  • Can I work and attend STP?

    No. Skills Training programmes cater to unemployed persons. The Board also conducts Evening programmes which cater to employed persons.

  • What is the cost of each programme?

    Only the Evening Programmes have an associated cost. This ranges between $150.00 and $650.00. For information on specific classes, please visit our Evening Programmes section.

  • Will I be paid while on the Apprenticeship Programme?

    Yes, note that the wage paid varies according to the company which employs you. An apprentice is paid 45%, 55% and 75% of a regular employee’s pay in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively.

  • C. Lomer Alleyne Skills Training Centre

    The CLA centre is where most of the Board’s Evening programmes are held. It is known for its Agricultural and Engineering programmes. CLA is the BVTB’s largest centre and it continues to be expanded.
